About Donna Mehalko

Donna Mehalko lives in New York with her husband and son.

She was raised on a farm in Southern Alberta, Canada and received a BFA in Painting and Drawing at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. She studied at the Banff Centre School of Fine Arts, and graduated with a degree in Experimental Arts and Painting from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto.

She moved to New York in 1987 to work on contract for Lord and Taylor. Her first assignment in New York, was a full page ad in the New York Times. She has worked for many fashion and beauty clients such as Henri Bendel, Revlon, and L'Oreal. She has also illustrated books for William Morrow, Viking- Penguin, and covers for Farrar Strauss Giroux.

She continues to paint.
